The term pH refers to the measure of hydrogen ion concentration in the body. The scale ranges from 0 to 14, with 0 being acidic and 14 as alkaline. Neutral pH is 7 and therefore balanced.
You are able to quickly and easily readjust your pH balance with a change in food selection. A neutral or alkaline pH level makes it easier to lose weight. When the body is acidic it holds onto the fat stores to protect itself due to high body acidity.
Processed and diet foods, alcohol, excessive meat, sugar and many weight-loss products containing aspartame can make the body more acidic. Adding more unprocessed natural foods, fruits and vegetables to your daily food consumption diet improves and balances your pH. Having lemon, lime or watermelon each day is a great way to make simple changes. Lemon, while being acidic outside the body is in fact one of the best alkaline foods we can consume as when infected it become fully alkaline. A squeeze of lemon in water or on acidic foods can neutralise much of the acid.
Stress and anxiety can increase your body’s acidity. Hypnotherapy can help address the issues that cause stress and anxiety. You can also be a bit more forgiving of yourself.
You may have to make some habit changes. Most of us overeat therefore lean portion control is important as well. We in fact need a very small amount of food to live healthy and provide the adult body with ample vitamins and minerals. Instead of worrying about wasting food, portion out your meals and place leftovers in the frog to eat later in another meal, perhaps left over dinner can be eaten for lunch or dinner the following day with added salad if it is a small amount only.
